Nigeria Offshore Investment
Where things stand
After Tinubu's tax breaks for deep offshore projects, NNPC said on Thursday the incentive order sets a predictable, competitive fiscal framework it expects to speed investment and output, with July production down 4 per cent but still above Nigeria's OPEC quota.
Nigeria's costliest oil and gas prospects lie in deep offshore waters, where developments have stalled and the government competes for international capital by adjusting fiscal terms. The presidency sets those incentives; the industry regulator NUPRC oversees production, which is also bounded by the quota Nigeria carries as an OPEC member.
