Russian insurers have effectively stopped covering war risks for cargo ships in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, RBC reports, after drone attacks on two civilian vessels. Ankara has renewed its call for shipping safety.

Türkiye's foreign ministry renewed its call for Black Sea safety on Tuesday after a drone attack injured several crew members on two civilian vessels; TASS said the crew of the Nadezhda are under medical care in Novorossiysk following what it called a Ukrainian drone attack, and reported another ship ablaze off Odesa. Russian insurers have effectively stopped covering war and terrorism risks for cargo ships in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, the business outlet RBC reported, citing industry sources.
